The family of the young woman who believes she is Madeleine McCann have released a bombshell statement saying they are 'devastated at this current situation'. Julia Wendell went viral after she created the Instagram account @iammadeleinemccann and presented 'evidence' she is the youngster who mysteriously disappeared in Praia da Luz on the night of May 3, 2007.
The 21-year-old from Poland claims she started wondering whether or not she was the missing Brit 'a few months ago' after hearing 'something from her grandma' and is believed to have a speck in her eye just like Maddie. Julia has accumulated thousands of followers since her wild claims and also said Kate and Gerry McCann have asked her to take a DNA test, the Daily Star reports.
A source close to the McCanns reportedly said: "The family are taking no chances, they are willing to look at all leads. It is important they look at all of the factors, the girl does look similar. There’s no disputing that."
