Channel 4 comedy Derry Girls, which is adored by fans, is back for the third and final series. Following the lives of five teenagers living through the Troubles in Northern Ireland, the popular series first aired in 2018.
Now the show is back, for the last series, and many of the cast members are returning, including Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan and Siobhan McSweeney as the famous Sister Michael. The second series of the comedy aired in 2019 and filming for the third series was meant to take place in 2021 but got pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The new trailer shows the Derry girls, and James, who has now been accepted as an honorary Derry girl, getting up their normal hysterical antics and causing their families grief. Here is everything you need to know about the new series.

How many episodes of Derry Girls on Channel 4 are there?
Series three of Derry Girls will begin on Tuesday, April, 12 at 9.15pm on Channel 4. There will be six episodes in the new series, with each half an hour long and aired every Tuesday on Channel 4.
Derry Girls full cast list
Saoirse-Monica Jackson plays the main character Erin as she tries to navigate growing up, being cool, and doing well at school all at the same time.
Louisa Harland plays Orla, who is less fussed about fitting in and is known as 'the weird one'. She is also Erin's cousin. Nicola Coughlan plays Clare, who lives her life in a permanent state of stress as she tries to bring sense to the friendship group.
Jamie-Lee O'Donnell plays Michelle, who is the bad girl and easily leads the group astray with her wild ideas and love for breaking the rules.
Dylan Llewellyn plays James, the English boy who is Michelle's cousin and is not loved for his nationality. Siobhan McSweeney plays Sister Michael, the serious and very sarcastic Sister of the school the group attends.
Tommy Tiernan is Gerry, Erin's long-suffering father who is called upon in every emergency. Tara Lynne O'Neill as Mary, Erin's mother, who tries to keep Erin on the straight and narrow. She is not always successful.
Ian McElhinney is Granda Joe, who is always ready to fight for peace and has a strong dislike of Gerry for no real reason. Kathy Kiera Clarke is Aunt Sarah, the ditzy mother of Orla and aunt to Erin.
Where was Derry Girls filmed?
The series is set heavily in Derry and the locations play an important part in the series with the backdrop of the Troubles in Northern Ireland a constant theme throughout. Filming for the third series took place mostly in Derry but Nicola has also revealed that some filming took place in Belfast.
