Denise Van Outen's ex Eddie Boxshall appeared to make a brutal comment about their doomed romance in a candid social media post.
The duo, who had starred together on Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox, stunned fans with news of their split in January.
While Eddie is yet to speak out on the shock demise of their seven year romance, his latest Instagram post suggests he felt 'lonely' during his time with the TV star.
The 47-year-old Essex native posted a picture of a post-it note baring a cryptic note to his Story.
"I'd rather be alone than with someone who makes me feel lonely," read the handwritten message.
Eddie then shared another message which said: "Due to personal reasons... I'm gonna focus on myself, my inner peace and what I'm going to eat later."
Denise was rumoured to have asked Eddie to leave their home last month amid unconfirmed reports that he had cheated with several women.
Eddie's jibe comes after comments from Denise resurfaced about 'not giving enough' to their relationship.
Appearing on the Before We Say I Do podcast last year, Denise admitted she flirts more at work than she did at home.
"I'm very aware of me putting us in situations where I'm not giving enough. I'm not as affectionate as I should be and I feel like I've lost my way a little bit within the relationship.
"It's a good relationship but I think it could be better if we take the time to discuss what is bothering us about each other so we can move forward," she said.
Denise and Eddie had been planning to get married later this year.
However, the former Big Breakfast host joked in an interview with the Mirror weeks before her split was announced that she'd rather spend money on revamping her garden than a wedding.
Denise also cracked jokes about her sex life with Eddie as they appeared together on Celebrity Gogglebox last year.
As the pair sat on the sofa to watch the Channel 4 show Sex In Lockdown: Keep S**gging And Carry On, Denise dropped some savage comments about how she'd prefer to go shopping than get into bed with Eddie.
She said: "I've got to be honest, at the beginning maybe [our sex life did change] but not now Boris has eased the lockdown. I'd rather go shopping!"
Denise then let slip that Eddie abandoned her on her birthday during lockdown as he claimed to spend the entire day buying gifts at a petrol station.
As they discussed the Queen's birthday, Denise shared: "'If I was having a birthday party and you missed it I'd have the right hump if you just weren't there. Actually, on my birthday you did go out!
"You went out the whole day. I spent my whole birthday pretty much alone and you went out to try and find me a present in lockdown when all the shops were shut."
Eddie hit back: "The garages were open though weren't they? I got you a de-icing mitt and some travel bits', while Denise added: 'And a pizza tray!"
Last month, Denise penned a short statement confirming she and Eddie were over after seven years together.
"It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue our relationship," Denise penned on social media.
Rumours have since swirled that Denise ended things after discovering a series of messages to other women on Eddie's phone.
A source told The Sun: "Denise is both furiously angry and utterly heartbroken. It’s the very last thing she expected to happen after she had been so happy with Eddie.
"She thought this was for ever. But while she has been out at work he’s been sat in her home betraying her trust.”
