Georgia Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff has accused President Donald Trump of being compromised on artificial intelligence regulation due to his family 's financial stake in the sector.
Ossoff highlighted that Donald Trump Jr. is a partner in 1789 Capital, a venture firm with heavy investments in AI laboratories and data centers.
The comments follow Trump's recent rejection of AI safety warnings, where he dismissed calls for regulation as a conspiracy that could give China a competitive edge.
Ossoff called for Big Tech leaders to testify before Congress, allow laboratory inspections, and take measures against AI-driven bioterrorism threats.
Labeling Trump as corrupt and incompetent, the senator urged voters to support Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections.
