When DeAndre Hopkins signed a two-year deal to join the Titans in July, the veteran wide receiver made it clear that he was determined to silence the “doubters” who were saying that his impact as one of the NFL’s most dynamic receivers was complete.
In the Titans’ 28-23 win against the Falcons on Sunday, Hopkins recorded arguably his best outing of the season, registering four receptions for 128 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. After the win, the five-time Pro Bowler stayed true to his mantra of quieting his doubters when he shared a memorable one-liner that was similar to what Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith did on Sept. 12, 2022, after defeating the Broncos on Monday Night Football.

“They wrote me off,” Hopkins said. “I feel like Geno [Smith].”
Although Hopkins got his first 100-yard receiving game of the season in the Titans’ 23-16 loss to the Colts in Week 5, he delivered an iconic performance that Tennessee fans had been waiting for in Sunday’s victory. Through seven weeks of action, Hopkins has 31 catches for 504 yards and three touchdowns.
Hopkins big day came at the play of rookie quarterback Will Levis, who threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns in his NFL debut. Prior to joining the Titans for the ’23 campaign, Hopkins was released by the Cardinals during the offseason.
