Davina McCall 'swims inches from killer shark' but terrified fans shouldn't panic

Davina McCall has terrified some of her fans after posting a pic of her swimming just inches away from a huge great white shark.

The 54-year-old TV presenter has been posting snaps of her sun-filled holiday over the past few days but fans rushed to the comments to express their fears after she showed that there could have been a near death situation.

While Davina swims blissfully in a white bikini, the photo shows a huge killer shark ready to attack just below the surface - but, of course, there is a twist to what is being shown.

Davina is actually in no danger at all as the shark has been edited into the pic by a friend but this reveal hadn't stopped a slew of worried fans messaging the star.

The Long Lost Family presenter has been holidaying with her partner, celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas.

She has been astounding her followers by posing in a white bikini which has shown off her toned body.

The latest snap was too much for some though, who believed that Davina was dicing with death with her proximity to the ocean-faring killer.

One fan commented on the photo: "This terrifies me and reminds me why I won’t swim out far in the sea!"

Another added: "That’s absolutely terrifying."

While another wrote: "The very reason why I never swim in the sea."

Davina looked to calm the nerves of fans by adding to the caption of the post that the shark was an "edit" and was not actually there as she swam.

Davina has recently spoken about how she maintains her youthful figure and it is not all down to yoga.

She said: "Getting older is brilliant because you feel happier in your own skin. When you get to a certain age, the chances are you’ll have been doing a job for a long time and you’ll be really good at it.

"I’ve interviewed so many people now that I know I’m a safe pair of hands. By this age, we’ve all learnt so much – although there’s still lots to learn, too."

Davina added: "People say you shouldn’t be weight training in your seventies – rubbish! It’s great for osteoporosis. You know, you shouldn’t let anybody tell you what you should and shouldn’t do."

One great sacrifice Davina says she still 'continues to grieve for', is cheese.

"My half-sister and I lived together for a long time and I remember our favourite dinner would be a ‘picky plate’ of assorted meats, cheeses, French bread and tons of butter.

"Now I very rarely eat cheese, other than a sprinkling of parmesan on my pasta or at Christmas time – I definitely see it more as a treat now."
