Davina McCall is grieving the loss of her father.
The Big Brother presenter, 54, is mourning her dad, Andrew, who died on Monday at the age of 77.
Telly star Davina shared the sad news on Instagram on Thursday and penned a tribute where she reflected on her father's character and shared that he "lived life" before "Alzheimer’s robbed him of the power of speech."
Alongside a photo of herself and her dad, she penned: "My Dad , Andrew, died on Monday night.
"He took a turn for the worse on Sunday but thankfully he wasn’t in pain. He was peaceful. Im so grateful for that, and that we could be with him .. He was the best Dad I could ever wish for. My sister and I hit the jackpot. He always made time for us, opened his ( and my amazing mummas) house to all our friends, temporarily adopted mates of mine that needed help.
"He was a facilitator, always helping people with intros … he knew EVERYBODY. And they ALL loved him! I can’t imagine how many careers and businesses were started because of him. The word legend has been used many times to describe my Dad.
"He was a bon vivante, loved life, positive to the very end… 'it just works' was one of the last phrases he was able to say as Alzheimer’s robbed him of the power of speech. He lived life. He loved us. And we loved him. With all our hearts. He leaves an enormous hole in our lives."
Several of Davina's famous pals sent her condolence messages in the comments section below the post.
Trigger Point actress Vicky McClure wrote: "I’m so so sorry to hear this Davina. Sending you and your family all my love."
Singer Pixie Lott added a string of heart emojis and Radio DJ Scott Mills commented: "Sending all my love Davina xxx."
Dame Kelly Holmes penned: "Oh no Sorry to hear this @davinamccall Loss break the soul and much as the heart, but how wonderful to have so many amazing memories. Much love you you and your family."
In September last year, Davina revealed that her dad had to move into a nursing home due to his deteriorating condition.
The Long Lost Family host said her dad was being cared for in a wonderful home after her step-mum reached breaking point trying to look after her husband amid his battle.
Davina's mum and dad split when she was just three and she was raised by her grandparents.
Her mum passed away in 2008, but Davina had a good elationship with her dad and step-mum Gabby.
