Davide Sanclimenti has revealed his plans to surprise his girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu changed after she was eliminated from Dancing on Ice.
Love Island winner Davide, 27, had planned on wooing his belle with a romantic meal in the UK as Ekin-Su had to stay in the country to fulfil her filming commitments for the ITV skating show.
But, his plans soon changed when the Turkish beauty, 28, crashed out of the competition.
Now, the pair are travelling to the Maldives for a romantic last-minute trip which means Davide had to reschedule his Valentine's Day plans.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, in collaboration with La Gioiosa Prosecco, Davide revealed: "The problem is I have something planned but now she went off from Dancing on Ice so we are thinking probably to go on holiday and we found a good offer from Valentine's Day so maybe my plan will skip to another day – I had organised a nice dinner and everything. Probably we'll do the nice dinner the day before and then on the 14th we'll take the flight to the Maldives.
"I said: 'Finally. Baby I feel sorry you came off from Dancing on Ice' but at some point I feel like I was involved in the show as well for the last three to four months so now she's off I feel a kind of freedom as well.
"So now maybe we can finally go on holiday together."
It comes after the hunk revealed his comforting words to his girlfriend after she became emotional over her exit from the show.
Ekin-Su was visibly tearful after she crashed out of the competition and even sparked hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to bend the rules and give her a hug.
And it was up to Davide to console her further after leaving the ice rink.
When asked how Davide comforted his girlfriend, he said: "This is something I told her as well, she was putting a lot of emotion in the show – maybe because of the training she did before. I told her she was not showing her best self, her real personality because too much feeling was involved.
"After the show she was a bit vulnerable in terms of feelings, she was feeling a lot of what she was feeling in the show but now she's OK."
Davide also revealed his top three Valentine's Day tips as he said: "Spend your Valentine's Day with the person you really care about – so don't organise a Valentine's Day just because it's on Valentine's.
"Do something with genuine intention, don't go for the most expensive restaurant just because you want to impress the girl, make something nice and easy at home with genuine intention and show the person you really care about them.
"Third tip is buy a bottle of La Gioiosa Prossecco and put it on the table!"
