Darwin Nunez's girlfriend sent the star striker an emotional message after his move to Merseyside was finalised.

The 22-year-old became Liverpool FC's latest signing this week after the Reds reached an agreement with Benfica that could rise up to £85m. Jurgen Klopp's side will pay a set fee of £64.1million (€75m) with a possible £21.3m (€25m) in add-ons depending on individual success, ranging from reaching appearance landmarks, scoring goals to winning the Champions League.

Nunez spoke of his delight after his move was confirmed. He said: "I’m really happy and delighted to be here at Liverpool. It’s a massive club.
