Daniel Levy must complete two more transfers to hand Ange Postecoglou dream Tottenham squad

Tottenham are getting their summer transfer business done nice and early. The Lilywhites have a new head coach in charge, following Antonio Conte's sacking mid-season.

Ange Postecoglou has taken over in N17, joining Spurs from Celtic, where he won the treble last season. Tottenham fans hope he can bring that winning feeling to north London, having been starved of silverware since 2008.

Postecoglou already has two completely new faces through the door at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and attacking midfielder James Maddison signing on the dotted line. Dejan Kulusevski made his loan move from Juventus permanent, while Sporting CP confirmed on Sunday that Pedro Porro's loan deal had also been made permanent, although Spurs have yet to announce that deal.

And, late on Sunday, it emerged that Manor Solomon would also be joining Spurs, with football.london understanding terms have already been agreed over a free transfer, should FIFA allow his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk to be terminated as a result of the ongoing war with Russia.

football.london reported before the transfer window opened that Spurs were looking at a number of players in different areas of the pitch, while also looking to offload some members of the current squad. And in signing Maddison, Vicario and now Solomon, Spurs are almost there under the stewardship of chairman Daniel Levy. There remains one big area in need of attention, however - defence.

In reporting the news of Solomon's deal, football.london's Alasdair Gold explained what the club's transfer plans where ahead of the new season starting. And only two transfers remain, albeit with more should more players leave than initially expected.

Gold said: "Manor Solomon is another good deal for Spurs. 23 with good experience. Will be interesting to see if [Bryan] Gil gets the final winger spot. That's the goalkeeper, AMC [attacking midfielder] and young winger accounted for. Now they need a couple of CBs [centre-backs] and replace anyone who leaves where there's little depth."

Two centre-backs are next on the transfer shortlist, with the likes of Edmond Tapsoba, Micky van de Ven and Tosin Adarabioyo all linked with a move. Once Spurs sign two new centre-backs for Postecoglou, you would expect transfer business to be done for the summer.
