Dancing On Ice professional skater line-up for 2022 confirmed as Olympian joins new series

Dancing On Ice has confirmed their professional line up, with ITV bosses bringing a new skater into the mix to join the eleven other skating professionals.

Whilst the celebrity couples have not been confirmed, viewers can expect to see eleven familiar faces take to the ice as well as one new skater when the series airs later this year and into 2023.

World-class ice dancer Olivia Smart has joined the team from the 2022 Winter Olympics, where she competed for Spain.

Other skating professionals on the ITV show include returning favourites such as Sylvain Longchambon, Vicky Ogden and Klabera Komini. Sylvain last skated on the show in 2019 and Vicky and Klabera both last featured on the 2021 series.

Longstanding skater Matt Evers has also returned alongside other favourites including Alexandra Schauman and husband Łukasz Różycki, Mark Hanretty, Brendyn Hatfield, Vanessa Bauer, Tippy Packard and Colin Grafton.

Whilst celebrity couples have not yet been announced, the famous faces taking to the ice include actress and DJ Patsy Palmer, football legend John Fashanu, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson, Coronation Street ’s Mollie Gallagher, Drag Queen and TV personality The Vivienne, TV personality Joey Essex, comedian Darren Harriott, actress and West End star Carley Stenson, singer Michelle Heaton and The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran.

Speaking in an interview at the NTAs, Siva said that he has been finding training "fun".

He added: ""[The hardest part is] just trying to stay up! I'm falling down all the time and trying to remember the moves. But overall it's fun. It is fun.

"I've never skated before, but I feel like I could go a long way. I feel confident."

Celebrities have been sharing their behind the scenes as they get out on the ice to train. Singer Michelle Heaton has already taken a tumble and reality star Joey Essex suffered a gory finger injury on his second day of training.

Joey shared his injury and bandage in an Instagram story where he told fans: "I don't think being a risk taker will be good for me...I've got myself a metal finger."

The star then tapped the phone camera with his bandaged finger before adding: "Lucky I've still got the finger to be honest. Got to deal with this now."

The TV star then offered some sage advice: "You live and learn. If you're ever gonna be a dancer on Dancing On ice, don't take risks. Go slow. It's all about patience."
