Dalbeattie Star will aim to end a disappointing season with some silverware on Saturday.
The Islecroft side finished bottom of the Lowland League with just one win to show for their efforts.
But the Utility Hut South of Scotland Challenge Cup has provided some joy as they’ve made it through to the final, where they’ll face Caledonian Braves on Saturday.
They’ve had to wait some time for the game as their semi-final against Lochar Thistle was at the start of May.
Star boss, Eddie Warwick said: “We’ll be ready as best we can. It’s a very difficult game but it’s a cup final at the end of the day so we’ll give it our best shot.
“We’ve been trying to keep fit, boys have been doing individual training and we’ll be training together this week.
“We’re trying to tick over, which is all you can do when you’ve two or three weeks without a game.
“It’s a cup final so hopefully everyone will be up for it.”
Saturday’s game kicks off at 3pm at Galabank, Annan.
The club has also revealed that captain Ewan Gourlay and vice skipper Dale Milligan are staying at Islecroft for next season.
