A statement from Mr Hughes' family paying tribute to him read: "My Dad, known by most as ‘Yozzer’ was a massive part of the local farming community in both Forest coal pit and Llanthony. Always happy to help out in any way possible and always with a big smile on his face.

We would like to thank everybody that helped Dad at the scene of the accident and also huge thanks to the ICU Critical care team at the Heath. The care and compassion that was shown to both Dad and my Mum was truly outstanding. Love you Dad - Morgan xxx."
