A man who died in a fatal crash at Gillieston Heights has been fondly remembered by his son for having "a heart that cared for everyone".

Jason Kildey, 44, was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Cessnock Road on August 2.

His son Jordan, 23, made a heartfelt tribute to Jason, who had seven other children.

Jordan said his dad would "be remembered as the man who lived every moment like it was his last and had a heart that cared for everyone".

"Still trying to make sense of all of this and wrap it around my head as it was only just that day that I was talking [to you," Jordan said in a post on social media shared by his mum Rachel Porter.

"I'll forever remember your pointless speeches, your cracker ideas that were dodgy but worked.

"I'll forever remember everything about you mate.

"So hard for me to accept this right now but just know I will continue to look after our family for you while you look over us as the proud father you always were."

Ms Porter said Jason was Jordan's "best mate", and Jordan "was his dad's hero".

"They shared a special bond and it breaks my heart that his dad is gone," she said.

The two other drivers involved in the August 2 crash, a 40-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman, were treated at the scene.

The 40-year-old man was taken to John Hunter Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family of another father killed in a separate crash on the same road three days later.

A 31-year-old man died after a car and truck collided at Cliftleigh on August 5. The truck driver was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The dad was remembered as "always a friendly face, a go-to person to share a laugh and good time with" on the GoFundMe page.

Reports on both crashes were being prepared for the Coroner.
