Currys has revealed its list of the most weird and wonderful tech products that people have recycled with the retailer via schemes like its Cash for Trash initiative. And the retrailer says it has taken the decision to temporarily hit pause on its ability to accept sex toys, whilst it explores safer and more discreet ways for them to be handled by colleagues.
A recent survey from Currys found that half of us admitted to discarding their old tech incorrectly. Since launching in March 2022, Currys Cash for Trash initiative has been hugely popular, with 46,500 tonnes of unwanted or broken tech recycled in the last year alone.
Almost any item with a plug or battery, can be handed in to be recycled by Currys’ tech experts. Regardless of its condition, or if it’s even working, Currys exchanges the item for a £5 voucher and in some cases, additional value off new tech purchases.
