Crypto crash: Where do Bitcoin and Ether stand after the historic crash?

Cryptocurrency Bitcoin’s price recovered 2% over the last 24 hours to $63,127.64 after a historic crash. The price had nosedived around 15% to below $60,000 over the last week, the most since November 2022, when trading platform FTX imploded.

Hovering at around $63,000, the cryptocurrency has lost a third in value so far in 2026 and more than half its value from an October 2025 peak of $126,000.

The prices of two other tokens, Ethereum and Solana, also rose on Monday, gaining 3.25% and 4.18%, respectively. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, was trading at $1,649.42 after falling 17.26% over the past week. Solana was trading at $65.31 following a 20% decline over the last seven days.

The global cryptocurrency market’s capitalisation is now at $2.25 trillion, having risen 1.8% in the last 24 hours, according to Coingecko.

Investment shift

Cryptocurrency investments have taken a backseat among investors as artificial intelligence now dominates stock markets . In the race for investor money, AI companies have edged out cryptos, and so have the manufacturers of semiconductors, chips, and other ancillary products.

Meanwhile, a host of crypto trading platforms have recently gone into initial public offerings by experimenting with tokenised versions of IPO shares.

One such platform, Bybit, said it would offer retail investors access to tokenised IPOs at the offering price, starting with SpaceX as its first offering. Bybit users can subscribe to tokenised representations of publicly traded equities via xStocks, a tokenisation platform developed by Payward, parent of global cryptocurrency exchange Kraken.

Earlier, Kraken, said it had opened SpaceX IPO access to clients in more than 110 countries via xStocks.
