Crude oil ‘openly burning’ in Black Sea after Ukraine strikes tanker off Russian coast

  • A Black Sea oil tanker caught fire off the coast of Russia 's Sochi resort after being struck by a drone attack.
  • Russia warned that crude oil was burning openly in the waters, while all 23 Indian crew members aboard the Liberian-flagged vessel were safely rescued.
  • Ukraine has not yet commented on the tanker strike, which followed a overnight Russian missile and drone assault on Kyiv that killed two people.
  • Ukrainian residents sought shelter in subways and metro stations as multiple explosions rocked the capital at around 3am local time.
  • President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that intelligence indicates Russia is preparing another massive attack, calling on international allies to provide vital weapons support.
