NEW DELHI: A court pulled up police for their "surreptitious" investigation in a robbery case, saying the investigating officer (IO) had simply padded up the case based on false evidence without carrying out any probe.
While acquitting the accused, additional sessions judge Prashant Sharma said the "hush-hush" manner in which the man was arrested and the weapon of offence found indicated the possibility of the accused being falsely implicated and the weapon planted on him.
