The New England Patriots may be in the market to select Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks at some point in the draft.
Banks was a four-year player for Maryland. He recorded 83 tackles and two interceptions during his collegiate run. He had his best season in 2022, when he recorded 38 tackles and half a sack in 12 games played. He also tallied an interception.
Corner is a position the Patriots could use help at for depth and playmaking ability. Banks has both of those capabilities. He was a 2022 All-Big Ten honorable mention. That was the culmination of a great run for a player that made an impact as soon as he got to the campus. He appeared in 11 games with eight starts as a freshman in 2019.
A fair amount of love in the building for Deonte Banks. Length. Speed. Toughness. A little too handsy (lot of penalties at Maryland) but very talented and someone that multiple sources I've talked to don't believe will get out of the teens… https://t.co/Y0dTGaT0X0

It will be interesting to see who the Patriots select throughout the course of the draft. It all starts on Thursday, as the Patriots have the 14th overall selection in the first round.
