Energy supplier Utilita Energy has brought out a new campaign which reveals that as many as 22 million households are seeing thousands of pounds going down the drain as a result of not having a handle on their heating and hot water systems.
According to their research, 78% of people they are not in full control of their heating and water system, 62% of people are unsure if their hot water is at the optimum temperature of 50 degrees Celsius and half of UK households are not aware that their hot water tap temperature can be set differently to their radiators. Last but not least eight in 10 households are concerned about affording energy.
The research also found that the reason many don't have control over their hot water and heating systems is because there is no boiler manual or that they don't feel confident checking their hot water temperature without the help of someone else.
