Jennie McAlpine is to become a mum again - and looks set to choose a sweet name that has been inspired by her Coronation Street career.
The Corrie actress, 38, has proudly showed off her baby bump as she announced she is six months pregnant.
Kicking off the new year in style, Jennie described how the news was the best Christmas gift she could have imagined and explained exactly when she realised she was expecting again.
The soap star and hubby Chris Farr were on a camping trip with their kids - Albert, eight, and Hilda, four - when she felt nauseous.
Following her previous pregnancies, she felt there were a number of similar symptoms so decided to take a pregnancy test and found she was about five weeks along the journey.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Jennie said the pair were "really thrilled" by the news but confessed her kids weren't "fully surprised".
She said: "It just feels really nice. We’re so over the moon. The thought of adding to our family mix and chaos was the best Christmas present! I’m really excited for 2023 – it’ll be a special one."
And opening up on potential names for the new arrival, Jennie admitted she doesn't think she'll be able to avoid another Corrie-linked moniker.
She explained how daughter Hilda's name was already in her mind, but gushed she's pleased it is a nod to one of the show's iconic characters - Hilda Ogden, who was played by the late Jean Alexander.
When asked whether there will be another subtle tribute to the show in the next arrival's name, she continued: "I can probably guarantee that whatever the name we choose, it will have been a character in Corrie – I don’t know how to avoid it!"
In the summer of 2022, as her on-screen character Fiz was set to wed Phill (Jamie Kenna) in a "posh do", Jennie opened up on her real-life wedding to Chris.
The pair tied the knot in 2017, but it was far from the eventful day that saw Fiz walk down the aisle.
Jennie and Chris opted for a more intimate affair and only had son Albert and two witnesses present. Speaking about the lack of similarities, she revealed at the time: "Do I love being the centre of attention and walking down the aisle and everyone looking at me? Oh my God – no.
"...You’re talking to someone who, in real life, just eloped and went off and got married, just me and my husband. All that fuss and all that messing about... when Fiz was saying, ‘It’s doomed, I shouldn’t have had this big wedding,’ I was thinking, ‘Yeah, you shouldn’t!'"
Fiz went on to marry former sweetheart Tyrone at Christmas as she brought an end to her eventful year.
