Corrie's Jennie McAlpine shows off her six-month baby bump in stunning gold dress

Jennie McAlpine shows off her baby bump in a stunning gold dress as she reveals she's expecting her third baby with husband Chris Farr.

The Coronation street star, 38, proudly shows off her six-month baby bump as she prepares for her April due date.

The actress, who plays Fiz Brown in the ITV soap, is glowing as she reveals her children Albert, eight, and Hilda, four, are excited to get a new sibling.

“They had talked about wanting [a sibling] before,” she tells OK! Magazine.

“We had a scan and then showed the pictures to Albert and Hilda after school – they’re really excited. From day one [they’ve been] touching my tummy and talking to the baby. They talk to the baby every day!

“Albert was like, ‘OK, there’s another kid coming into this house. There’ll be even more sharing that’s going to have to happen.’”

Jennie and her husband Chris Farr have decided not to find out their baby's gender – like with Albert and Hilda.

“It feels like our way to do it,” Jennie says. “Girl, boy – it’s not relevant! I’ve got two little humans who are very different from each other but I’m not sure they’re different because they’re a girl and a boy.”

Jennie described how the news was the best Christmas gift she could have imagined and explained exactly when she realised she was expecting again.

The soap star and her husband were on a camping trip with their kids when she felt nauseous.

Following her previous pregnancies, she felt there were a number of similar symptoms so decided to take a pregnancy test and found she was about five weeks along the journey.

Jennie said the pair were “really thrilled“ by the news but confessed her kids weren't “fully surprised“.

She said: “It just feels really nice. We’re so over the moon. The thought of adding to our family mix and chaos was the best Christmas present! I’m really excited for 2023 – it’ll be a special one.“

And opening up on potential names for the new arrival, Jennie admitted she doesn't think she'll be able to avoid another Corrie-linked moniker.

She explained how daughter Hilda's name was already in her mind, but gushed she's pleased it is a nod to one of the show's iconic characters – Hilda Ogden, who was played by the late Jean Alexander.

When asked whether there will be another subtle tribute to the show in the next arrival's name, she continued: “I can probably guarantee that whatever the name we choose, it will have been a character in Corrie – I don’t know how to avoid it!“

In the summer of 2022, as her on-screen character Fiz was set to wed Phill (Jamie Kenna) in a “posh do“, Jennie opened up on her real-life wedding to Chris.

The pair tied the knot in 2017, but it was far from the eventful day that saw Fiz walk down the aisle.

Jennie and Chris opted for a more intimate affair and only had son Albert and two witnesses present. Speaking about the lack of similarities, she revealed at the time: “Do I love being the centre of attention and walking down the aisle and everyone looking at me? Oh my God – no.

“...You’re talking to someone who, in real life, just eloped and went off and got married, just me and my husband. All that fuss and all that messing about... when Fiz was saying, ‘It’s doomed, I shouldn’t have had this big wedding,’ I was thinking, ‘Yeah, you shouldn’t!'“

Fiz went on to marry former sweetheart Tyrone at Christmas as she brought an end to her eventful year.
