Coronation Street has confirmed two former soap stars are joining the ITV soap for an explosive new storyline, involving two current characters.
Two new residents will embark on the street this summer for a "sizzling" new plot, that sees teen Aadi Alahan caught up in huge drama.
Courtney Vance and her husband Darren Vance will head to the Cobbles in the coming months, and it emerges they are known to Dev Alahan, Aadi's father.
Darren is a business associate of Dev, but viewers will quickly see that his wife Courtney has eyes for Aadi.
Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis is confirmed to be joining the cast as Courtney, while Darren will be played by actor Ryan Early who has had roles in shows including Emmerdale, Heartbeat, Grantchester and The Crown.
The pair will bring chaos to Dev and Aadi's front door, as the teen "finds himself caught up in a web of deceit" and in a lot of trouble.
Speaking about getting the role, actress Stephanie said: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining the cast of Coronation Street, playing the part of Courtney Vance.
"Growing up I have always watched and loved the show, so to be part of the biggest TV soap in Britain, which is in the hearts and homes of so many people, is an honour."
Actor Ryan said: "I am so thrilled to be playing Darren Vance on Coronation Street and joining the most iconic Soap. I grew up watching the show with my grandmother so to walk on the cobbles is such an honour."
Coronation Street Producer Iain MacLeod added: "In Stephanie and Ryan, we have cast two fantastic actors as the catalyst for this fun, fiery storyline.
"Aadi will quickly find himself way out of his depth as he risks everything for Courtney. And while it is the best time he’s ever had in his life, he stands to end up in a whole heap of trouble!"
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
