Coronation Street star Ryan Prescott has shared an update with fans after his on-screen character suffered a horrific acid attack on the long-running ITV soap.
Ryan's Weatherfield alter-ego Ryan Connor featured in dramatic scenes during Monday's episode, as Daisy Midgeley's wedding day turned into scenes some viewers compared to a "horror film".
As Daisy's sick stalker Justin Rutherford lurched towards her with a glass of acid, Ryan jumped into the way, taking most of the acid, though some also landed on Daisy's chest. Ryan now has a long road to recovery ahead of him, with his life changed forever.

Coronation Street bosses said they decided to tell this story to highlight the devastating impact and long lasting effects of such heinous attacks. And now Ryan, who hails from Southport, has taken to Instagram to share a similar message.
He said: "Sometimes we don’t like to look directly at the things that scare us most. And anyone has good reason to be scared of violence of this nature. It is life changing, destructive and unforgettable.
"That’s why everyone at @coronationstreet felt so strongly in telling this story, to reflect by some means, the reality of our world.
"However scary that world may be, we must strive to understand, to investigate and to explore any shaded corner of it and reveal it to the light."
Ryan went on to add that there were 300 acid attacks in Manchester alone in 2022. He continued: "Thank you to everyone watching at home, for your attention and for your support.
"If you would like to offer further support, donate or for more information on this subject @acid_survivors and @kpfoundation are two amazing charities that do incredible work."
