Coronation Street has confirmed that a favourite Platt family member has been recast.
Fans of the Virgin Media soap will soon see a new face on screens, as David the dog is making a return with a new look.
The pooch, owned by David Platt, made his debut in 2017, but after a recent absence it has now been announced that a new pup will take on the role.

Jack P Shepherd, who plays David, announced the news on Coronation Street's TikTok account, Mirror UK reports.
He confirmed that the new David, played by Dave the dog, has arrived on the cobbles.
Cradling him and showing him off to followers, Jack confirmed the new dog was replacing the old actor in the role.
He said: "So this is David, the new David the dog. He is actually called David, or Dave. He’s the brand new one and he’s done his first day, two scenes, he’s very tired. He’s going to go home for some treats now. But he’s very good, very well behaved."
As he held on to the pooch, Jack was loving his new co-star and said: "Look at him, look at him!"
The former dog playing David hasn't been seen on screen for a while, but it's expected the character will be back within weeks.
Viewers will recall that David was the dog of a character called Mrs Moss, who was a client at Audrey’s salon. Mrs Moss loved human David, so much so she named her little dog after him - before leaving him to David in her will when she died.
The character passed away in 2017, and the pup has been with the Platts ever since.
But David the dog isn't the only recast in the Platt family over recent years, as the original actor playing David's son Max Turner was also replaced in 2021.
Max first appeared as the son of Kylie Turner, who later became Kylie Platt, in 2010.
The youngster was played by actor Harry McDermott, who went on to portray the character for a decade until 2020.
However, in 2021 the role was recast and actor Paddy Bever took on the role - which he remains in now.
Paddy recently won the National Television Award for Best Serial Drama Performance in 2022, while Max is currently at the centre of a controversial new storyline.
Max is being groomed by extremists in a dark plot, that has left viewers complaining.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on Virgin Media One.
