Cordon lifted after police called to reports of 'gunshot' in St Ann's street

A cordon put in place after reports of a gunshot being heard in Nottingham has now been lifted. Police were called to Tulip Avenue, off Hungerhill Road, just before 5.20pm on Tuesday, May 17.

The next day on Wednesday, May 18, police officers could be seen carrying out extensive searches in the area as part of their investigation into what happened. They say they were called to the street in St Ann's after reports a gun had been fired - nobody has been injured and no arrests have yet been made, according to the force. There is no police presence as of 9am on Thursday, May 19.

Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We are taking this report extremely seriously and would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Hungerhill Road and Tulip Close areas yesterday afternoon. We would especially like to speak to anyone who saw two men dressed in dark clothing who were seen in the area that time.
