Copper prices fell further on Monday, declining to a three-week low below $14,000 a metric ton as rising inventories on the London Metal Exchange eased concerns over tight supplies, according to a Reuters report. A stronger dollar also weighed on industrial metals, adding to pressure after copper suffered its first weekly loss since June amid uncertainty over US tariffs.
Three-month LME copper was down 1.6% at $14,005.50 a ton at 1600 GMT after touching $13,958, its lowest since August 20. The metal has now fallen 6.2% from the record high reached last Thursday, when prices briefly appeared on course to test the $15,000 mark.
