Conor McGregor was more impressed by Floyd Mayweather's brawl with John Gotti III than their actual fight.
Boxing legend Mayweather fought Gotti, the grandson of notorious New York mob boss John Gotti, in his latest exhibition fight last weekend. The former five-weight world champion unsurprisingly had his way with Gotti for six rounds, before the MMA fighter was disqualified by referee Kenny Bayless.
Gotti didn't stop throwing punches despite the fight being over as he charged towards Mayweather, who stood his ground in the bizarre affair. Chaos ensured as the teams of both fighters then got in the ring and started brawling. UFC star McGregor has now admitted he isn't a fan of Mayweather's exhibition fights and wasn't impressed with his former rival's showing against Gotti.

“I wasn’t that impressed, to be honest with you,” McGregor told TMZ of Mayweather’s performance. "I don’t know what he’s on. There’s no meaning behind it. He’s just here and there. There’s no meaning behind the bouts. There’s nothing to it. I enjoyed the brawl afterwards more than I did the actual bout.”
Gotti has since been punished for his actions as the Florida State Athletic Commission has banned him for six months whilst no action has been taken against Mayweather. Gotti dragged McGregor's name into the equation in an Instagram post aimed at Mayweather that read: "Punk b****, you my enemy for life. [Conor McGregor], we need back up. Bum never put me down or stopped me it was a DQ for no reason."
McGregor backed Gotti after his call for support by posting a now-deleted Twitter voice note saying: "I back the Gottis, el tempo es dinero" and when translated from Spanish to English, the second part of McGregor's comment reads "time is money". Mayweather and Gotti's brawl also caused a series of melees in the crowd, with troubles also carrying over to backstage after the event.
Mayweather wasn't caught up in the backstage brawls that took place the boxing legend could be heard saying of the madness whilst in his dressing room: "Man, that s*** was crazy". Gotti's sister Nicolette was furious with Mayweather after the scuffles as she launched an expletive-fuelled rant on Instagram promising to get revenge by "coming for his daughter".
