Conor McGregor fans increasingly concerned as UFC star shows off new look

UFC fans are convinced Conor McGregor won't fight Michael Chandler after he revealed his questionable new look.

McGregor, 34, is pencilled-in to fight Chandler at the end of the year but an official date is yet to be announced for the fight. It was expected to take place at UFC 296 on December 16 in Las Vegas, but that date could now be scratched as McGregor is seemingly yet to re-enter the drug testing pool to complete six months of mandatory testing before he can make his return.

The Irishman completed several weeks of filming by coaching alongside Chandler for season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, but he is currently going through a dismal stint on the UFC reality show after losing five consecutive fights. Fans are convinced McGregor won't fight again because of a lack of training footage on his social media accounts - but he did capture their attention with a video showing off his new moustache.

"The Ultimate Fighter seems like just a way to keep his name and brands popular to get attention again, I don’t think this man was ever planning to fight Chandler," one comment read. Another used agreed by replying: "There's no way this man is fighting Chandler going by his tweets and Instagram posts."

"Even if he does fight Chandler at this point I think he gets knocked out. He’s just been out for too long and will probably gas bad. His cardio already seems suspect and that’s never been his strong suit," a third comment read. Some fans gave a different take on McGregor's comeback as they think shouldn't be pressured into fighting Chandler.

A user wrote: "Dude already won the game. He doesn't need to fight anymore if he doesn't want to. I would take easy fights to complete his UFC contract and then put on super fights for whoever the highest bidder is." Another added: "He made millions and now wants to enjoy his life. Don't see why people buy into him fighting that much it makes them bitter, leave the guy alone" before a final comment read: "Let's be honest, he's never fighting again and he doesn't need to."

McGregor hasn't fought since suffering a horror leg break in his July 2021 trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier. If his comeback fight against Chandler is delayed until the first quarter of next year, it could mark four years since he last won a fight by the time he steps foot in the octagon again.
