Conor McGregor 'excited to return' to UFC after lengthy absence

Conor McGregor is 'excited to return' to the UFC following his lengthy injury absences.

The Notorious hasn't fought since suffering a horrific leg injury at the hands of Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 back in July 2021. Rumours of a 2022 return never came to fruition, with late 2023 now the most likely window for a McGregor comeback.

McGregor returned to Ireland at the back end of last year to step up his rehabilitation. In recent days, the former two-weight UFC champion vowed to ' slice through someone' upon his UFC return.

Judging from his latest Instagram activity, a return is certainly on McGregor's mind. Earlier today, the 34-year-old posted a video of Bruce Buffer announcing McGregor's name to fans while the Dubliner makes his entrance. The post is simply captioned, "Excited to return."

The clip in question is from McGregor's 2020 fight with Donald Cowboy Cerrone. On that occasion, The Notorious decimated Cowboy within a round to bounce back from his 2018 defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

As for now, McGregor has other things on his mind and has been celebrating the fourth birthday of his daughter Croía in recent days.
