Conor Benn's Return to 147 Pounds Before Saturday's Las Vegas Title Fight Renews Questions About Weight Cutting

Conor Benn steps on a scale in Las Vegas on Friday to make 147 pounds for the first time since 2022, and the concern being voiced publicly is not whether he makes the number but what condition he will be in afterward.

Benn challenges WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. He has fought at middleweight and at a 150-pound catchweight over the past two years, and has said this will be his last outing at welterweight before moving up again. Both fighters passed weight checks required by the sanctioning body during fight week.
