Concrete blocks thrown at primary school in Tallaght damaging windows

Gardai are investigating after concrete blocks were thrown at the windows of a school in Tallaght.

The two incidents happened at St Maelruain's Junior School in Tallaght on Old Bawn Avenue on Tuesday, January 18 and Thursday, January 20.

On January 18, a concrete slab was removed from the roof and thrown at the windows of the internal courtyard, resulting in damage to the window frames.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: “Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage to a property in Tallaght, Co. Dublin between the 18th and the 19th of January 2022."

"No arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing."

Meanwhile a separate incident happened on Thursday, January 20, when a group of people threw blocks at the front of the school at around 9pm.

Gardaí said investigations are currently ongoing and no arrests have been made in relation to both incidents.
