Concern growing for missing Kilmarnock man last seen walking towards bus terminal

Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a man who was last spotted in the early hours of this morning. John Brown was seen around 4.30am on Thursday, August 25 on Sunnyside Road walking towards the Shortlees Road bus terminal in Kilmarnock.

Police are appealing for the public's help tracing the 40-year-old who is known to have links to the Inverness area. John is described as being around 5ft 11ins in height and of medium build with short, grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and blue Nike trainers. Officers are urging anyone who can assist with their inquiries to get in touch.

Sergeant Alan Convery said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for John’s safety and wellbeing and we are carrying out searches and enquiries to trace him as soon as possible, to ensure that he is safe and well. He frequents the Kilmarnock area but he also has links to the Inverness area.

“I would urge anyone who has seen John, or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact 101 with reference number 1047 of 25 August.”
