A Bengaluru-based social activist, on Wednesday, filed a complaint against Chandru Moger, coordinator of the Hindu Jagruthi Samithi, for spreading communal hatred on social media. In his complaint, activist Zia Nomani cited Moger’s post on Twitter urging people to buy fruit only from Hindu vendors. This comes amidst calls for a ban on halal meat.
The Sanjay Nagar police have taken up the complaint and are seeking legal opinion before registering an FIR against Moger.
In his complaint, Nomani said his comments against Muslim traders are threat to national integrity and promote religious fundamentalism. Such statements promote communal hatred and are threat to the social fabric of the society, he said and submitted video links and links of the news along with his statement.
