Indianapolis Colts pending free agent linebacker Bobby Okereke agreed to a four-year deal with the New York Giants, according to multiple reports Monday.
As the legal tampering period commenced Monday afternoon, one of the biggest Colts names in free agency has found a new home. After spending the first four years of his career in the Circle City, Okereke now heads to the Big Apple.
The deal reportedly is four years and worth $40 million with $22 million guaranteed.

It was expected that the Colts would be outpriced in free agency even if the linebacker market wasn’t as strong as it was initially thought to be. Considering the money the Colts already have invested in the linebacker position, this was the expected result.
Okereke was solid for the Colts during his rookie contract. The former third-round pick stepped up big time in 2022, registering career-high numbers in tackles (151), solo tackles (99) and tackles for loss (six) while adding five passes defended.
With Shaquille Leonard and Zaire Franklin under contract for 2023, it will be interesting to see if the Colts make fellow pending free agent E.J. Speed a priority now.
Regardless, Okereke did well to earn himself a bag and will be working in the middle of the Giants defense.
