Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders Receives Ultimate Praise From Fox’s Joel Klatt

When Colorado trailed Colorado State by eight points in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s Rocky Mountain Showdown, quarterback Shedeur Sanders delivered a “Tom Brady”-like 98-yard game-tying drive capped with a two-point conversion to force overtime against the Rams.

In overtime, Sanders went on to lead the Buffaloes to a the win and added more fuel to the fire surrounding his candidacy as a legitimate name to potentially take home the coveted Heisman Trophy award. The Colorado signal caller’s latest performance prompted Fox color commentator and former Buffaloes quarterback Joel Klatt to say that Sanders was the “most clutch player” in college football.

“Against Colorado State, [Sanders] scored on his final three drives of regulation, field goal, field goal, touchdown,” Klatt said on The Joel Klatt Show. “Sanders led three straight touchdown drives against TCU, and in every one of those drives, Colorado had a deficit. They [Buffaloes] had to score touchdowns against Nebraska. It was a tight game. …He’s the most clutch player in college football. He played his best ball when his best was needed. That’s what great players do,” Klatt said.

Sanders, the son of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, threw for 348 yards on 38-of-47 passing with four touchdowns and one interception—his first of the season—in Saturday’s game. In three games this year, Sanders has thrown for 1,251 yards and 10 touchdowns.
