Clueless Tipping Point contestant gives wrong answer and says Ron Weasley's dad is... Ben

A contestant on Tipping Point had no clue about a question - and used host Ben Shephard's name instead in his answer. Contestant Scott panicked when he was asked a simple question about a Harry Potter character.

The panic of participating in a game show - whether as a viewer or even worse as a contestant - can shred your nerves and make you answer obviously wrong answers. Scott, a pilates instructor from London was left red-faced when he was asked a Harry Potter-themed question on the popular game show.

The question posed by host Shephard was: "What is the first name of Ron Weasley's father in the Harry Potter books?"

Scott said: "I've got absolutely... I'm going to have to guess. Is it Ben?"

A smiling Shephard could barely control his laughter. He asked: "What on earth gave you that idea?"

A red-faced Scott admitted: "I've got no idea."

Shephard replied: "So you've gone with Ben. You had to give me something."

Scott did not deny the obvious and said: "I've gone with the person facing me." The host replied: "You're not sure. Let's see if it's right."

Scott was wrong, as the correct answer is Arthur. Viewers were keen to share their opinions on social media.

Taking to Twitter @KayleighAnslow said: "Scott is definitely not a Potterhead." @Queen_Vix88 replied with a laughing emoji: "Ben! #TippingPoint"

@campbeduk said: "Scott’s luck has run out … shame, shame, shame. Still, he had a lovely day #tippingpoint."

Tipping Point airs Monday-Friday on ITV at 4pm.
