Manchester United fans were left breathing a sigh of relief after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) came to their aid in today's crunch clash with Arsenal.
Gabriel Martinelli thought he had fired the Gunners in front on 12 minutes but after the cheers in the away end soon subsided when replays emerged showing a potential foul in the build-up. Arsenal's skipper Martin Odegaard was adjudged to have fouled United's Christian Eriksen but only after referee Paul Tierney watched a replay on the pitchside monitor and reversed the decision to award the goal.
On commentary, former United defender Gary Neville admitted the decision was "soft" despite it coming to the aid of his former club.
