Claude AI was down — what we know so far about the outage

Users flocked to Downdetector around 1:35 p.m. ET, quickly hitting 1,800 reports that subsequently hit 2,700 reports by 2:05 p.m. ET.

Claude's own status page confirmed the major outage with issues related to "Claude.ai unavailable and elevated errors on the API" and "Elevated errors on Claude Haiku 4.5." Over on X, users also reported an outage with accessing Claude Design.
