Clarke recalled from Hibs loan as Arsenal activate summer break clause

Clarke recalled from Hibs loan as Arsenal activate summer break clause

HIBS have confirmed Harry Clarke has been recalled from his loan spell in Eidnburgh.

The full-back has returned to Arsenal after the Premier League club activated a summer break clause in the loan deal.

Clarke had joined Hibs in January with an 18-month agreement but Arsenal held the right to recall the 20-year-old in either summer or next January.

And Clarke has been called back to London ahead of Hibs' return for pre-season.

A club statement read: "We can confirm that Harry Clarke has left Hibernian FC after being recalled by Arsenal.

"The English Premier League club activated the summer break clause in the loan agreement just before Lee Johnson’s side returned for pre-season.

"After joining Hibernian FC in January 2022, Clarke recovered from a hamstring injury to break into the starting XI.

"During his time with us, he made eight appearances and contributed with one goal and two assists; his goal came on his debut for the Club against Dundee United.

"We thank Harry for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future."
