Christian Pulisic tipped for Chelsea transfer exit ahead of Stamford Bridge exodus

Chelsea may 'prioritise' the sale of Christian Pulisic this summer, with the 24-year-old tipped to leave the club by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Pulisic has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge for some time, but the American has remained in London ever since being signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2019. Chelsea paid £58million ($73m) for Pulisic four years ago, but has failed to hold a consistent starting role under a string of different managers.

This season has been the most disappointing for Pulisic, scoring just one Premier League goal in one of his seven starts in the competition. The 24-year-old is desperate to play first-team football, and Romano expects Pulisic to move this summer, with Chelsea preparing a major clear-out of their playing squad after a mega spending spree under Todd Boehly.

Romano appeared as a guest on CBS Sports Golazo, with Pulisic the main talking point on the show. Pulisic is one of the most popular and talented players for the USMNT, but can't seem to nail down a spot in the Chelsea team.

Pulisic has been recently linked with a move to Italy, but while Romano didn't confirm rumours of Juventus or Napoli being interested, he did predict that the American will leave Stamford Bridge this summer. "I think so yes," Romano said when being asked if Pulisic will move on at the end of the season.

"I can't confirm any of the rumours we (Italy) had in the last few days with Juventus or Napoli, but the reality is Juventus still don't know who's going to be the director for next season. So the project is not clear as they're still working to meet targets.

"It's the same for Napoli, as their director Cristiano Giuntoli is a target for Juventus. But it's also important to remember there are other clubs. Some clubs in England, some clubs in Germany, and I think the player knows that.

"It's time for him to go and play some regular football, he needs to be consistent and feel like an important player in the club and this is not happening at Chelsea. My expectation is for Chelsea to prepare for him to go this summer, but I think they want an important proposal.

"It's going to be complicated, maybe a loan deal with a buy option clause, or they could try and find a permanent deal opportunity for Pulisic. But this is one of the priorities of the club (Chelsea), to sell as many players as possible."
