Manchester United face a delay completing the signing of Christian Eriksen which could see him miss their pre-season flight.
According to the BBC, the Red Devils are confident that the deal will get done after the Danish playmaker verbally agreed terms with the club. But they are unsure on whether Eriksen will be with the squad that travels out to Thailand to continue their pre-season preparations on Friday with an extensive medical and other aspects of the deal still needing to be completed.
Erik ten Hag's side face Liverpool in their first friendly next Tuesday. It is more likely that Eriksen will go to Australia instead, where United play A League side Melbourne Victory on 15 July before taking on Crystal Palace three days later. They finish their tour of Asia against Aston Villa on 23 July.
After suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, it is understood Eriksen's medical must be particularly stringent to ensure he passes all the necessary tests. Inter Milan terminated the Denmark international's contract back in December after he was fitted with a heart-starting device, something that prevents him from playing in Italy.
However, Eriksen was handed an opportunity to join Brentford a month later and he took the chance with both hands after passing his medical. He penned a short-term deal until the end of the season and Eriksen made an instant impact, chipping in with an assist on his debut as they thrashed Norwich City 3-0.

He continued to impress and helped the Bees to Premier League safety, having grabbed a goal and three more assists in 10 appearances. It is a run of form that has attracted United's attention and Ten Hag is identified him as a top target alongside Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong.
United completed their first signing of the summer on Tuesday as Tyrell Malacia made the £15m switch to Old Trafford from Feyenoord, with the left-back penning a four-year deal. The Red Devils are expected to follow up that piece of business with the arrival of Eriksen in the coming days, while a number of other players continue to be linked with a move to the club.
The saga surrounding De Jong's proposed transfer to United has lingered around all summer and it has been revealed the Red Devils have lodged a fresh bid of €65m plus €22m in add-ons. But if the Red Devils reach €75m up front plus €12m in add-ons, then Barcelona will accept their bid, according to journalist Gerard Moreno
Meanwhile, United are also hoping to bolster their front line with Antony among those to be linked. The 22-year-old winger is reportedly open to reuniting with Ten Hag, who he worked with at Ajax.
This all comes with Cristiano Ronaldo's future firmly in doubt. He told the Red Devils last weekend that he would be open to leaving Erik ten Hag’s side this summer if United receive a suitable offer for him, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich both reportedly interested in signing the Portuguese international this summer.
