Beijing [China]: China attaches high importance to BRICS cooperation and supports India in successfully hosting this year's leaders' summit, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated on Tuesday, as reported by China's state-run media outlet Global Times.

According to Global Times, the remarks were made in response to a question regarding whether the Chinese Foreign Ministry could confirm who would attend on behalf of China at the 18th BRICS Summit, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from September 12 to 13, and what Beijing expects from the upcoming summit.
