Saudi Media Group's Khalid Al Khudair has aimed a dig at Arsenal, stating he would consider a move to buy the club if they were a 'charity case' after the group suffered a terminal blow in the Chelsea takeover race.
After six days of pure speculation following the Raine Group deadline for bids last Friday, Mohamed Al Khereiji's group became the first to break silence with the news that they are not being considered to take over from Roman Abramovich, the Russian oligarch under UK government sanctions. The consortium led by Todd Boehly, a part-owner of the LA Dodgers, and Sir Martin Broughton's group were told on Thursday night they had progressed to the shortlist.
According to reports, it seems to now be a straight shoot out between the aforementioned American consortium and the UK axis of Broughton and Coe with the Ricketts Family more outsiders with some suggesting they had made the third spot for the shortlist despite the #NoToRicketts campaign going crazy on social media. Alternative plans such as joining other consortium's are being mentioned in the media this morning.

The same tactic is also being touted for the Saudi Media Group. Whilst we all await their next move, one of the senior figures in the group Al Khudair has been interacting with a few disappointed Blues fans on social media, who were hoping that the spending under Abramovich was set to continue for the foreseeable future.
But while interacting with people on Twitter, rivals supporters of other Premier League clubs sent messages to the Saudi Media Group member. One of the Arsenal contingent made his best effort to send a cheeky request and see if the group fancied buying out the Gunners' American owner Stan Kroenke. When asked to put in a bid for the north Londoners, Al Khudair said he would only do so if it was a "charity case". A response that was greeted warmly by the west London faithful who love how their personal love for their club will not ever die in spite of this takeover setback.
