Chelsea are reportedly plotting a summer transfer move for Wolves defender Max Kilman as the Blues prepare for a summer of change at the back.
Thomas Tuchel remains in the hunt for three more trophies this season but attention at Stamford Bridge will already have turned to the next transfer window.
Cesar Azpilicueta, Antoino Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are all set to leave the club on free transfers when their contracts expire at the end of the season, leaving Tuchel with incredibly limited options.
Unsurprisingly then, the club have been linked with a number of options that could bolster the back line.
Sevilla defender Jules Kounde is reported to be their number one priority, while hopes of agreeing a new deal with Rudiger have not yet been lost, although agreeing to his demands would make the player the highest paid defender in the Premier League.
Other names to be mentioned in relation to Stamford Bridge include Juventus' Matthijs De Ligt but a shrewder move is now being touted in West London.
According to talkSPORT, Wolves defender Kilman has caught the eye of the powers that be, with Bruno Lage's side creeping into contention for a Champions League place.
The 24-year-old has been an ever-present in the Wolves team this season, playing every minute of their 24 Premier League games so far.
A boyhood fan of Chelsea, there have been increasingly loud calls for Kilman to be given an England call-up and after they secured a 1-0 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford, he was compared to current stars including Harry Maguire.
“Kilman has to be in the next England squad,” the former Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards told the Express & Star.
“I think he’s streets ahead of Tyrone Mings and Harry Maguire prior to his injury, it just shows how [much praise] the recruitment and coaching staff deserve.”
