Paul Merson has sent a warning to Chelsea's fringe players, telling them they have let people down and that a summer clearout is likely around the corner. It comes in the wake of their Champions League exit to Real Madrid and a string of defeats at Stamford Bridge.
Most recently Thomas Tuchel's side were beaten 4-2 by Arsenal in west London, with their Premier League season very much winding down with little to play for. A place in the top four is all but secured with the focus now on building momentum ahead of the FA Cup final with Liverpool.
They face another tough test on Sunday afternoon when West Ham visit Stamford Bridge, who have not given up on a place in the top four themselves. But the Hammers' focus has been stolen by a glorious Europa League run with victory over Lyon helping them to a semi-final clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.
