Chelsea eyeing £42m wonderkid as Granovskaia aims to beat Barcelona to 'dream' transfer

Chelsea's hopes of a Premier League title charge suffered yet another blow with a midweek draw with Brighton, showing there's still plenty to do.

Thomas Tuchel's side remain in the hunt on three cup fronts in the second half of the season but new signings may be required if the bridge to runaway leaders Manchester City is closed.

That has seen a wealth of big-name targets linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, as shown with the latest rumours.

Spanish outlet Sport claim that Chelsea are looking to land the services of Barcelona wonderkid Gavi, adding there is a £42m release clause in his contract.

The 17-year-old is currently embroiled in contract uncertainty at the Camp Nou amid the club's precarious financial position.

Contracted with the club to 2023, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have also been attributed with interest.

Elsewhere, La Repubblica states Marina Granovskaia remains on the trail of Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt as a transfer battle appears to be developing.

Barcelona boss Xavi is said to see the Netherlands international as a 'dream' signing, with Bayern also in the hunt for a deal that is priced around €65m.

Finally, Fichajes state Barcelona remain in negotiations with Andreas Christensen and a decision in imminent on the player's future.

The central defender is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season and is free to discuss a pre-contractual agreement this month.
