Chelsea trigger Michael Olise release clause with £35m transfer close

Chelsea have trigged Michael Olise’s release clause and a £35m move from Crystal Palace is close.

The Blues are closing in on a move for the Frenchman, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury picked up during the U21 European Championships earlier this summer.

Manchester City were also interested in the 21-year-old but it is the Chelsea who have stolen a march.

The club are preparing for an exodos during the final few weeks of the summer transfer window as they close on Olise following the British record £115m signing of Moises Caicedo.

They will soon accelerate plans to move Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah, Ian Maatsen, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech on.

Gallagher has interest from West Ham and Tottenham but is keen to stay and fight for his place under Mauricio Pochettino.

Palace, meanwhile, could turn their attention to Southampton forward Che Adams as a replacement, with the Scotland international open to a move back to the Premier League.
