Chelsea are reportedly tempted to renew their interest in Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo, just months after they were linked with a move for him in the summer transfer window.
According to a Sunday World report, the West London club - who ended their pursuit of the Portuguese frontman with ex-manager Thomas Tuchel not keen on the 37-year-old - could move for the player once again. The club's owners were keen on securing a deal for Ronaldo given his huge commercial appeal.
With Graham Potter now in charge of the Blues, a short-term deal for the former Real Madrid man in January is now thought to be a possibility. The report adds that an option for an extension into a second season could be possible if all parties are happy next summer.

It is also claimed that a decision on Ronaldo's future could be made as early as next week, with a termination of his contract said to be one of several options. The 37-year-old year old is also thought to be open to taking a pay-cut on his current United salary to secure a move away from Old Trafford.
Elsewhere, the Sun are reporting that United are set to 'fight' Premier League rivals Liverpool to sign Chicago Fire starlet Jhon Duran. The 18-year-old, who has registered eight goals and five assists this term, has impressed in the MLS and has attracted interest from teams in England and Spain.
The report states that his agent and family recently travelled to the United Kingdom and have been in contact with a number of interested parties.
Chicago Fire endured a disappointing season and could potentially be prepared to sell, despite the player only breaking into the first-team this campaign.
