Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards says that the only way the Premier League title race can be reignited is if Pep Guardiola's side beat 'themselves.'

The 1-0 win for Man City over close rivals Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium recently left a 13-point gap between the top two, and the Brighton draw for Thomas Tuchel's side all but condemned the Blues to more of a top four race instead of a title charge with all of Man United, Arsenal and Spurs amongst others closely lingering behind.

Even Tuchel hinted that the focus is now on what is behind his team in the current standings rather than in front with the Spurs London derby a real acid test for a European Champions outfit that have only managed to accumulate four Premier League wins stretching back to the start of December 2021.
